A Student Government is concerned with a broad array of activities, including representation of the interests of those students in discussions with the academic and administrative authorities of the University, a Faculty, or a College.

At York there are over 350 student clubs. A Student Club is voluntary, membership-driven organization that is dedicated to a particular interest or activity.

SCLD offers various training opportunities for students at York University. Specialized training sessions are available for anyone within the general student population as well as student-staff, and student organization leaders.
