LSS Workshop Registration Instructions

  1. Check-out our calendar for upcoming workshops.
  2. On the calendar, look under the workshop description for the registration link. Please note that you must register for each workshop individually and use a YorkU e-mail to register.
  3. After you register, you will receive an e-mail confirmation with a link to access the workshop. This link is individual to you, please do not share it.
  4. On the day of the workshop, login 10-15 minutes early to your and open the link in your confirmation e-mail. You will be placed into a waiting room until it is time to start the session.

Tips for Participating in an Online LSS Workshop

  • Our workshops are limited to users with a YorkU e-mail and Zoom account. To access your YorkU Zoom account, visit  and use the “sign in” button on the top right hand corner to login with your Passport York credentials.
  • Before you start, check that you are in a place with a strong internet connection so that your session will not be interrupted with lost connections.
  • Test out your speaker, microphone, and video before logging on to make sure that they are working.
  • Learning Skills Services webinars are interactive - please come ready to engage in discussion and activities.

Learning Skills Workshops - Frequently Asked Questions

You don't need to sign-up for Zoom! Once your Passport York account is active, your Zoom account is active too. All you have to do is sign-in. Use this handy for additional information about how to sign-in.

Learning Skills workshops are limited to participants from the York University 51Թ. You must register with your York University email address to sign-up.

Visit  and use the “sign in” button on the top right hand corner to login with your Passport York credentials and then return to the registration form. Logging into your Zoom account will ensure that Zoom 51Թs your email as a YorkU user.

Once you are logged into your YorkU Zoom account, please click on the Zoom link provided in the confirmation email when you registered for your Learning Skills Workshop.

If you are logged into your YorkU Zoom account, have clicked on the Zoom link provided in the workshop confirmation message, and are still having difficulty logging in, please use the "join meeting" feature and type in the meeting code and password to join the workshop.

Learning Skills Workshops are interactive sessions and are not recorded. If you are unable to attend a session that you are interested in, please check the calendar for upcoming dates. We offer workshops every weekday when Fall/Winter classes are in session.

We have tips, videos, worksheets, and more available for all of our workshop topics available to you to access anytime.

Learning Skills services workshops are offered each weekday while classes are in session during Fall and Winter.

  • If you don't see any upcoming workshops on our calendar, please check back during the last week of each month for the next month's schedule.
  • Many of our workshop topics are offered year round, while some topics only appear at certain times of the year when they are most needed. For example, our Starting off Strong workshop is offered at the beginning of each term.

When you register for a Learning Skills workshop, you receive a confirmation email. Please review the confirmation message closely for instructions for logging into the workshops, tips for having a great workshop experience, and information on how to access the workshop slides.

Your professor will accept A) a copy of your workshop confirmation, or B) a screenshot that you take during the workshop as proof of your attendance.

If your professor does not accept one of those two items as proof or your attendance, please email learningskills@yorku.ca with your course code, instructor's name, and information about the assignment.

Please note that we only verify workshop attendance for students who complete the Passport to Success Program.
